The purpose of the Mobile Recording Studio (MRS) is to bring quality, analog recording gear to people in a convenient way. I believe you can record music anywhere. Your surroundings can be just as influential to a great recording as the gear you own. I also believe that an artist should be able to choose the space they record in, especially if it makes them feel more comfortable and relaxed. Spartan Recording is about exploring sound, in all environments.
Spartan Recording services include Sound Engineering, Tracking and Mixing, Live Podcasts, Voice Overs, Live Mixing for Outdoor and Indoor Concerts
I designed the MRS to also take recording OUTSIDE the confines of the classic tow trailer. From this point of view you can get as creative as you want with the locations you record in. The Mobile Recording Studio is ready for you, wherever you are.
Spartan Recording currently operates throughout the state of California. The studio is stored in Santa Barbara County. Please visit the "Contact" page to schedule deliveries.
The MRS is built out of a 1951 Spartan Royal Manor. After WWII, John Paul Getty, owner of Spartan Aircraft Company, ended aircraft production and transitioned the company to manufacturing Spartan trailers in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Unfortunately, in 1961, all production of the Spartan Manor brand trailers ended.
This specific model tow trailer is approximately 30 feet long and 8 feet wide. The steel frame underneath has been reinforced with new steel welded by MCT Trailers in Ventura, CA. Additional upgrades include an electronic jack system, two torsion axels, electronic brakes, four rows of stabilizing legs, two AC units, and two fan units. The MRS is built to withstand long journeys on the road, after all, it was destined to travel.
